Are you an experienced Cardiac Catheterization Lab or Cardiac Procedural nurse looking to lead a collaborative, highly specialized team—without the demands of nights, weekends, holidays, or call?
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Services team as a Clinical Nurse Coordinator. This advanced nursing role offers the opportunity to work alongside nationally recognized cardiovascular specialists while caring for patients undergoing complex invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures, while also enjoying a schedule that supports work-life balance.

As a member of our team, you will:
- Care for patients undergoing complex cardiovascular procedures
- Work closely with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, anesthesiologists, and cardiovascular specialists
- Participate in cutting-edge cardiovascular therapies and research initiatives
- Develop advanced procedural and hemodynamic monitoring expertise
- Practice in a collaborative environment that values professional growth and nursing excellence
Position Highlights
In this role, you will provide comprehensive nursing care before, during, and after cardiovascular procedures while serving as a clinical expert within the department.
Procedures supported include:
- Right and left heart catheterization
- Coronary angiography and interventions
- Peripheral vascular interventions
- Atherectomy and stent placement
- Pacemaker implantation
- Intra-aortic balloon pump management
- Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE)
- Dobutamine stress echocardiography
- Advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures
Successful candidates are confident clinicians who combine strong critical care skills with exceptional clinical judgment and the ability to remain calm during high-acuity situations.
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 4 days/week
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School of Nursing required
- 5–7 years of nursing experience required
- Cardiology or cardiovascular procedural experience preferred
- Experience supporting invasive cardiovascular procedures preferred
- Active DC RN License
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- ACLS certification required
