Full job description
Reporting to the Plant Engineering Manager, you will lead the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of plant utility systems, including boilers and steam, ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, process water and wastewater, natural gas distribution, and fire protection systems. You will oversee utility maintenance activities, team development, budgets, and reliability initiatives to maximize uptime, maintain regulatory compliance, and support continuous improvement across the facility.
A Taste of Your Responsibilities
- Lead the Utilities Maintenance team, including scheduling, coaching, development, and performance management.
- Oversee the reliability, compliance, and performance of utility systems including boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, wastewater, natural gas, and fire protection.
- Drive asset care strategies through preventive, predictive, and autonomous maintenance programs.
- Minimize utility-related downtime through maintenance best practices and system optimization.
- Manage maintenance budgets and support capital improvement planning.
- Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee Process Safety Management, Risk Management Plans, wastewater permits, refrigeration standards, and fire protection programs.
- Implement Reliability Center of Excellence standards and SAP Plant Maintenance work management processes.
- Monitor utility performance indicators, conduct audits, and lead continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain utility documentation, inspections, testing records, and emergency response procedures.
- Supervise contractors and ensure safety, quality, and compliance expectations are met.
Ingredients Required for Your Success
- Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering degree preferred (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or related discipline).
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience; manufacturing utility maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience with boilers, steam systems, ammonia refrigeration, wastewater treatment, compressed air, and fire protection systems preferred.
- Knowledge of Process Safety Management, Risk Management Plans, Environmental Protection Agency, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, National Fire Protection Association, and related regulatory requirements.
- Experience with SAP Plant Maintenance preferred.
- Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, infrared thermography, and ultrasound monitoring.
- Understanding of programmable logic controllers and industrial control systems preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Demonstrated success leading teams, managing contractors, and improving equipment reliability and operational performance.

Compensation
Annual Base Salary: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
