Full job description
Operations Manager – Sarasota Bay Dental
Sarasota, FL
Sarasota Bay Dental is a privately owned, growing dental practice in Sarasota, FL, seeking an experienced and business-minded Operations Manager to help take the practice to the next level.
This is a unique opportunity for someone who is more than a traditional dental Office Manager. We are looking for a strong operator and leader who can work closely with the practice owner to improve operations, develop the team, strengthen systems, monitor performance, and identify opportunities for continued growth and profitability.
The practice already has an experienced Office Manager who handles many of the day-to-day front office responsibilities. This role will work at a higher operational level, focusing on leadership, accountability, business performance, team development, and helping turn the owner's vision into action.
If you are someone who naturally looks at a business and thinks, "How can we make this better?", this could be an excellent opportunity for you.
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, in-person position in Sarasota, FL
- Anticipated schedule of approximately 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday–Thursday, with flexibility based on the needs of the practice
- $32/hour
- Performance-based bonus structure tied to practice growth and measurable results
- Meaningful opportunity to increase overall earnings through the bonus structure
- Health and vision benefits
- Employee dental care discounts
What You'll Do
- Partner directly with the practice owner to execute the practice's vision, goals, and growth strategy
- Oversee and improve the overall operations, systems, and workflows of the practice
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and use data to identify opportunities for growth, efficiency, and profitability
- Lead, develop, and hold the team accountable while maintaining a positive and collaborative culture
- Handle HR-related matters, including employee concerns, performance issues, hiring, onboarding, and team development
- Work closely with the existing Office Manager to support the day-to-day team while focusing on higher-level operational needs
- Identify problems and inefficiencies, develop solutions, and follow through on implementation
- Help improve scheduling, patient flow, productivity, and overall practice performance
- Lead team and leadership meetings and ensure goals and action items are followed through
- Step in and be hands-on when needed — this is a leadership role, but also a doer role
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in operations, business management, or a leadership role
- Strong business acumen with an understanding of growth, profitability, and performance metrics
- Confident leadership and people-management skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Someone who is comfortable having difficult conversations and holding others accountable
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to take ownership without needing constant direction
- A strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves and get things done
- Comfortable working closely with an owner and turning big-picture ideas into actionable plans
- Strong technology and analytical skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly
- Dental experience is preferred, but strong operations and business leadership experience in another industry will be considered
Dental Experience
Dental experience is preferred, but it is not required for the right candidate.
A candidate with experience managing a dental practice, large dental office, DSO, or multi-provider practice will be highly valued. However, we are also open to strong Operations Managers and business leaders from other industries who have a proven track record of leading teams, improving operations, increasing profitability, and growing a business.
We can teach the right person the specifics of dental. Strong leadership, business acumen, accountability, and operational thinking are much harder to teach.
This Role Is a Great Fit For Someone Who:
- Enjoys building and improving businesses
- Is energized by growth and solving problems
- Thinks strategically but is not afraid to get hands-on
- Knows how to lead people and hold them accountable
- Can look at numbers and translate them into actionable decisions
- Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do
- Is comfortable having challenging conversations when necessary
- Can work independently while partnering closely with the practice owner
- Wants to have a meaningful impact on the growth and success of a business
- Is looking for more than a traditional Office Manager position
Why Join Sarasota Bay Dental?
This is an opportunity to step into a key leadership position within a privately owned practice where your work can have a direct and measurable impact.
You won't simply be managing a schedule or putting out daily fires. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside the owner to improve the way the business operates, develop the team, implement better systems, track performance, and help build the foundation for long-term growth.
If you are an experienced business operator, dental leader, or proven operations professional who is ready to take ownership of a growing organization and help take it to the next level, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today!
