Job Description:
Job Summary
The Engineering Supervisor provides frontline technical and operational leadership for assigned hydraulic fracturing fleets from pre-job planning through live execution and post-job review. This role supervises assigned engineering personnel, supports job readiness, validates technical requirements, monitors execution risks, ensures alignment between operational stakeholders, customers, and leadership, and escalates operational, customer, or safety concerns within scope.
Responsibilities
Provide technical and operational leadership for assigned fleets from pre‑job planning through execution and post‑job review.
Supervise assigned engineering personnel and reinforce workflow, communication, reporting, and operational standards.
Maintain awareness of job status, operational risks, customer requirements, and fleet readiness.
Conduct field visits as needed to verify job readiness, workflow compliance, layout execution, and operational alignment.
Build job proposals after pricing approval through the established internal approval process.
Validate operator procedures and confirm technical readiness of well information, treatment schedules, equipment needs, horsepower demand, and execution feasibility.
Identify, troubleshoot, and escalate planning gaps, procedure conflicts, equipment limitations, execution risks, and data quality concerns.
Develop and coordinate practical pad layouts using approved software in collaboration with field supervisors, operational support teams, logistics, and customers to support move-in readiness.
Align remote operations and field teams on job objectives, schedules, reporting expectations, customer requirements, and operational priorities.
Maintain clear communication with key operational stakeholders, customers, and leadership to support execution consistency and timely issue resolution.
Serve as a customer-facing technical and operational contact while keeping leadership informed of key concerns, risks, recurring issues, and customer feedback.
Prepare and present bi-weekly KPI performance reviews for assigned fleets, highlighting operational performance, key trends, performance gaps, and areas requiring corrective action or follow-up
Provide technical guidance on treatment behavior, pressure and rate trends, chemical performance, material usage, schedule execution, and operational deviations.
Coach, develop, and onboard assigned engineers by reinforcing workflows, customer requirements, technical standards, communication expectations, escalation judgment, and reporting quality.
Provide performance feedback to leadership regarding readiness for advancement, training gaps, workflow consistency, and development needs.
Identify and communicate unsafe work practices, layout risks, and operational concerns impacting safe execution.
Maintain and enforce compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) discipline preferred.
Prior hydraulic fracturing engineering experience required; experience in a lead engineering or remote operations role preferred.
Advanced knowledge of hydraulic fracturing operations and treatment execution, including stage execution, treatment schedules, pressure and rate trends, chemical performance, material tracking and usage, equipment function, pump schedules, operational variances, and field-to-remote operations communication.
Ability to build technically accurate job proposals and develop practical pad layouts considering equipment requirements, logistics flow, traffic patterns, maintenance access, safety, and operational efficiency.
Demonstrated ability to lead engineering personnel, support multiple active operations, make day-to-day operational decisions within defined authority, manage escalations, and maintain alignment across operational stakeholders, customers, and leadership.
Ability to review operational data, reports, tickets, and engineering documentation for accuracy, consistency, compliance with company and customer requirements, and effective digital workflow management.
Proficient in Microsoft 365, Excel, reporting systems, data validation, documentation control, and related digital tools.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including radio communication with field supervisors, customer representatives, and internal leadership.
Demonstrates sound judgment, accountability, attention to detail, problem-solving ability, coachability, and commitment to continuous improvement.
Able to work 12+ hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and willing to travel to assigned fleet locations, support field activities, and participate in job readiness efforts as required.

The employee must be capable of safely lifting and/or moving at least 80lbs. in a team lifting setting/effort while walking on uneven surfaces.
This position requires the use of both arms and hands to perform simultaneous or coordinated actions to manipulate objects and operate equipment. This position requires dexterity of both hands to complete small precise tasks.
