Full job description
Essential Functions:
- Perform efficient, safe, and accurate work for all assigned tasks, ensuring compliance with company SOPs, state policies, and product specifications.
- Work to ensure daily production schedule and goals set by Manufacturing Manager/Supervisor are met.
- Complete production tasks with consistency and quality while maintaining reasonable speed as dictated by department standards.
- Maintain meticulous records for all manufacturing activities to meet operational, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Awareness of company quality and compliance standards for each product type.
- Serve as line inspector of products, ensuring every product meets strict quality control requirements. Record, quarantine, and dispose of non-conforming products following proper procedures.
- Operate filling/packaging machines and other equipment.
- Conduct routine cleaning and basic maintenance of equipment.
- Maintain high level of cleanliness of all department equipment, production areas, and tools according to company procedures which may include sweeping, mopping, and sanitization of environment, and work surfaces.
- Collect, log, and destroy process waste, scrap, and regular waste per company procedures.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Startup and shutdown of assigned processes to maintain balanced workflow and meet production needs, occasionally during non-traditional working hours (i.e., second/night-shift).
- Report and document inefficiencies and downtime to identify process issues, working with the team to resolve in a timely manner, escalating to supervisor as required.
- Support maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service when needed.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- 1+ year of experience in manufacturing/packaging environments, food and beverage, commercial kitchens, labs. Cannabis industry experience preferred. Edibles/Infusions experience a plus.
- Experience working with laboratory and/or industrial food processing and preparation equipment preferred.
- Ability to effectively manage change and adjust comfortably to new people and processes.
- Flexibility in a quick moving, growing industry. Experience in a startup and/or high-growth environment preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Reliability with time and attendance.
- Ability to work well individually and as part of a team.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Extraordinary attention to detail.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Experience and working knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control procedures (QC) preferred.
- Familiarity or experience with GMP preferred
- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Frequently lifts, loads, unloads, moves, positions, and transports items up to 50 pounds.
- This person may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals, and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
- Frequently works in spaces with bright lights, mechanical noise.
