Our client is seeking a Payroll Clerk Assistant to join their team. As a Payroll Clerk Assistant, you will be part of the Human Resources Department supporting payroll processing, employee record maintenance, and administrative support. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Payroll Clerk Assistant
Location: Columbus, IN
Pay Range: $20-$25/hr
Shift: 8AM-5PM, M-F
What's the Job?
- Assist in processing weekly payroll checks and entering weekly hours for field employees
- Set up new field employees in the company's accounting system and maintain personnel files
- Complete new hire reporting and employment verifications for field employees
- Prepare and update logs for new hire paperwork and ACA information
- Support administrative tasks such as preparing employee benefit postings, wage estimates, and audit support
What's Needed?
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred
- One to two years of payroll experience with computer proficiency
- Strong understanding of onboarding processes and federal, state, and local reporting regulations
- Excellent organizational skills and high accuracy in data entry and record maintenance
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
