Full job description

The major duties of a Physician - Gastroenterologist include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide comprehensive GI care for outpatients, inpatients, and nursing home patients.

  • Provide educational support and supervision of Gastroenterology trainees

  • Diagnose, treat, and manage gastrointestinal diseases, including Hepatitis C.

  • Perform endoscopic procedures (EGD, PEG, colonoscopies)

  • Offer consultative services to the VA Medical Center and associated CBOCs.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff under the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model.

  • Report to the Chief of Gastroenterology

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Salary up to $400K plus incentives

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
