The Vaccine Management Field Technician, SLPG is responsible for supporting onsite vaccine storage and temperature monitoring across SLPG practices. This role manages the installation, maintenance, replacement, troubleshooting, and documentation of temperature monitoring equipment, including data loggers, sensors, and backup NIST thermometers.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Install data loggers and backup NIST thermometers in new, relocated, or replacement refrigeration units.

• Install and replace data logger sensors in designated refrigeration units as needed.

• Replace data logger sensors upon expiration on a biannual rolling schedule.

• Maintain a systematic schedule to ensure timely replacement of data logger sensors and related temperature monitoring equipment.

• Maintain accurate documentation of all equipment installations, replacements, service activities, and related follow-up.

• Track inventory needs and coordinate ordering of temperature monitoring supplies.

• Troubleshoot temperature monitoring equipment issues and coordinate resolution with vendors or service providers as appropriate.

• Maintains confidentiality of all materials handled within the Network/ Entity as well as the proper release of information. 

• Complies with Network and departmental policies regarding employee, patient, and environmental safety and follows appropriate reporting requirements.

• Demonstrates and models the Network’s Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with internal and external customers.

• Demonstrates Performance Improvement in the following areas as appropriate: Clinical Care/Outcomes, Customer/Service Improvement, Operational System/Process, and Safety. 

• Demonstrates financial responsibility and accountability through the effective and efficient use of resources in daily procedures, processes, and practices. 

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: 

Sitting for up to 8 hours per day, 3 hours at a time. Consistent use of hands and fingers for typing, telephones, data entry, etc. Occasional twisting and turning. Uses upper extremities to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Bend and kneel, and the ability to reach above shoulder level. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing, as it relates to general vision. Visual monotony when reading reports and reviewing a computer screen.

EDUCATION: 

High school diploma or equivalent required.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE: 

Minimum of 1+ years of experience required. Must have technical knowledge with relevant hardware, software, or machinery (IT, electrical/refrigeration) experience. Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and effective communication skills are required. Knowledge of principles of vaccine storage and handling, and CDC/Department of Health regulations preferred. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across a large geographic region are required.
