STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Clifton Springs Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Behavioral Health Therapy
SCHEDULE: Thursday-Sunday; 11:00am-11:30pm or 7am-7:30pm
SUMMARY
Provides emergency mental health evaluations, crisis intervention, milieu management and dispositional planning for patients needing assessment and intervention in a variety of clinical or community settings
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing OR Master Degree in human service field OR PhD/PsyD required.
2 years relevant experience preferred
Required New York State Licensure / Certification Skills:
LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LMFT, LCAT, permit or license required
OR
RN license required
OR
If PhD/PsyD.is held, no license required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides Emergency mental health evaluations.
With the psychiatrists supervision, acts as consultant to assist patient and clinical team with Behavioral Health subject matter expertise
Provides crisis and /or acute mental health intervention to patients presenting to the psychiatric emergency department setting in collaboration with family and significant others.
Prioritizes and triages patients requiring immediate psychiatric intervention.
Manages all telecommunication, collaboration with internal and external customers, and documentation relevant to the psychiatric patient admission, treatment, and discharge or transfer.
Consults with the Team Leader, Manager, and/or Psychiatrist on Call to implement the most appropriate treatment and dispositional plan. Reviews every person evaluated with the psychiatrist to determine the most appropriate treatment and disposition.
Provides Behavioral Health evaluations in secure settings, hospital settings, outpatient settings and community locations
Provides Substance use screenings and interventions using evidence based practices like SBIRT (screening, brief intervention, referral to treatment)
Attend Monthly scheduled staff meetings
Data Collection
Ad hoc committee membership
Performs other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary - Sedentary roles are primarily office-based and require prolonged sitting (67–100% of the workday) with minimal physical effort and lifting limited to under 10 lbs. Fine motor skills are necessary for computer work, writing, and telephone use, supported by clear visual and auditory ability. Cognitive and emotional demands are high due to extended concentration, frequent interruptions, independent decision-making, and information processing. Although physical exposure is low, administrative areas within healthcare environments may occasionally involve contact with infectious agents. Some roles may require flexible hours, TB screening, or a valid driver’s license.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
