Position Overview
Kids First Therapy Center is actively seeking a devoted and highly skilled Pediatric Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to become a vital member of our expanding Pediatric Therapy Team. Key Responsibilities
- Assist Physical Therapists in the delivery of individualized treatment plans by preparing patients and therapeutic modalities.
- Engage with children in their prescribed exercises and activities, ensuring that they remain motivated and comfortable throughout their therapy sessions.
- Set up and maintain appropriate therapeutic equipment and treatment areas, ensuring all tools are readily available for effective sessions.
- Document and monitor patient progress meticulously, providing timely, accurate reports and observations to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Maintain a clean and organized therapeutic environment, adhering to all safety and sanitation guidelines.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your primary focus will be on young patients, ranging from infants to adolescents, who may be experiencing developmental delays, physical disabilities, or recovery from injuries. Understanding the specific challenges faced by this age group is paramount, as is applying appropriate methods to engage and empower them during therapy.
Qualifications
- Must hold a valid Florida PTA license to practice.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy Assistance or a closely related field is required.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and anatomy is essential to effectively understand and communicate treatment processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with both children and their families.
Preferred Experience
- At least one year of professional experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in a pediatric clinic, hospital, or outpatient setting.
- Demonstrated competence in employing adaptive techniques to work effectively with children facing diverse challenges.
- Prior experience collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient care outcomes.
Compensation and Benefits
