About the Opportunity
Corewell Health Medical Group is seeking a highly motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Interventional Pulmonology program in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
This position offers a unique opportunity to join a high-volume, board-certified interventional pulmonology program providing advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients with complex airway, pleural, and thoracic diseases. The APP will play an integral role in the evaluation, treatment, and longitudinal management of patients undergoing advanced bronchoscopy, pleural procedures, and multidisciplinary lung cancer care.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative team dedicated to innovation, quality improvement, education, and exceptional patient-centered care.
Position Highlights
- Dedicated Interventional Pulmonology practice
- Join a high-volume, board-certified interventional pulmonology program
- Participation in multidisciplinary lung cancer and thoracic oncology care
- Exposure to advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including robotic-assisted bronchoscopy, EBUS, navigational bronchoscopy, pleural disease management, indwelling pleural catheter management, and airway interventions
- Mix of outpatient clinic, inpatient consultation, and procedural support
- Opportunity to assist in advanced pulmonary procedures

Responsibilities
- Evaluate new and established patients in outpatient and inpatient settings
- Perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations
- Develop and implement diagnostic and treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians
- Participate in pre-procedure evaluations and post-procedure follow-up
- Coordinate care for patients undergoing advanced bronchoscopic and pleural procedures
- Manage patients with pulmonary nodules, suspected or confirmed lung cancer, pleural effusions, airway disorders, and complex pulmonary conditions
- Facilitate communication among multidisciplinary care teams
- Provide patient and family education
- Participate in quality improvement and program development initiatives
Qualifications:
Nurse Practitioner:
- Required Master's Degree Nurse Practitioners who obtained their education and certification after 2000 must show evidence of completion of a master’s, post-master’s or doctorate from a Nurse Practitioner program that is accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission
- 3 years of relevant experience current, relevant clinical experience
- Previous experience functioning in a collaborative role as a Nurse Practitioner
- LIC-Nurse Practitioner (NP) - State of Michigan
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
- CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- CRT-Pediatric Adv Life Support (PALS)
Physician Assistant:
- Required Master's Degree Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant educational program
- LIC-Physician Assistant - State of Michigan
- CRT-Physician Asst Certified (PA-C) - NCCPA National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS)
