Job Description Summary:
Job Description:
- Provides emotional support to parents of NICU patients and assists with family bonding at the bedside.
- Advocates for parents' needs and concerns within the healthcare system, facilitating communication and representing the family’s perspective and best interests to providers and interdisciplinary teams.
- Assists and educates parents in navigating the NICU environment and adjusting to having an infant admitted to the NICU, offering needed information and support.
- Encourages and facilitates parental involvement in support services and program activities.
- Assists in the development and implementation of research and patient care protocols to improve neurodevelopmental outcomes in chronic neonatal patients.

Skills:
- Familiarity with chronic neonatal diseases.
- Knowledge of family-centered care principles.
Experience:
Experience as a parent or primary caregiver of a NICU graduate, required.
