Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.
As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol in Newark, DE, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works:
- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to staff, donors, visitors, and/or clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site policies, documenting incidents and communicating relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders.
- Maintain required armed post qualifications, follow applicable laws and site procedures, and complete accurate daily activity reports.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
- Have at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
