Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Pennsylvania license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Special Requests: Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. Blocked schedules are allowed as long as unit needs are met.

Unit Details: 1W primarily cares for post-surgical and orthopedic patients. 2E primarily cares for Med-Surg patients, including pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end-of-life care, low-volume inpatient chemo, and some COVID patients. Low-volume inpatient chemo is on 2E; the director and manager administer chemo. Could be assigned to both “clean” and “dirty” patients at the same time; must be comfortable with this. Remote telemetry patients are monitored by the 3rd-floor monitor tech; there are no monitors on the unit. Heparin and possibly MSO4 are used for comfort measures; no cardiac gtts. BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow are managed by RT. No CNAs on nights. Nights have a resource nurse who takes a full patient assignment.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are weekend shifts. Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule. Holidays rotate with permanent staff. Self-scheduling is allowed.

Floating Requirements: Floating only to other Med-Surg units.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
