The James Mountain Inhofe Veterans Affairs Medical Center (JMIVAMC) is seeking applications for the position of staff physician, Gastroenterology. We're seeking a board-certified, full-time employed physician to join our Gastroenterology department at the Eastern Oklahoma VA Medical Center Hospital. Our ideal candidate will enjoy a busy, clinical practice and be dual board certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. We are specifically seeking someone with an interest in the combination of outpatient and inpatient consults and management. Supports 60-bed VA hospital in Tulsa. Reports to the Chief of Medicine Specialty. This is a Non-supervisory position. Join a department that is expanding to better serve Veteran patients!
The Staff Physicians may have teaching opportunities due to our association with Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (OSUCOM) and the Oklahoma University of Oklahoma College of Medicine (OUCOM) program. Qualified applicants will have an MD/DO, current medical license and be board-certified or eligible in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine. The ideal candidate for the staff physician positions will be suitable for academic appointment at OSUCOM and OUCOM. At the level of opportunity for joint academic appointment, teaching, and research. Endoscopy at the hospital and the outpatient clinic, as supported by a strong track record of academic and/or clinical excellence. Applicants must also be eligible for appointment at the VA. The clinical activities of the Section of Gastroenterology span the breath of the subspecialty and are strongly supported by surgery, pathology, radiology and the other staff members of Medicine Service.
Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, (May be required to work evenings or weekends as a 24/7 Full-Time Physician). Full time 40 hours per week, ad-hoc telework eligible, Not Remote.

Salary range is $320,000 to $400,000 & potential for annual performance bonus up to $15,000

Contract buy out program: VHA Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).
