Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: - Must be able to read telemetry strips. - Must be comfortable caring for post heart cath, CHF, COPD, post pacer, CABG consult, and arrhythmia patients. - Must be able to perform EKGs if needed when PCTs are unavailable.
Special Requests: - Block scheduling may be accommodated if unit needs are met.
Unit Details: - Cares for post heart cath patients with TR bands, CHF, COPD, post pacers (no external pacers), medical management patients, patients waiting for CABG consult, and patients with arrhythmias. - Heparin is the primary titrated drip; Lasix or Bumex may occasionally be titrated. Cardizem and amiodarone are not titrated. - Monitor techs are available, and the unit serves as the central monitor station for the North Tower. - PCT support is available for ADLs, FSBS, and EKGs. - Occasional high-flow therapy in certain rooms. BiPAP and CPAP are used for supportive therapy only, and patients dependent on continuous BiPAP or CPAP are typically transferred to a higher-acuity unit. - Charge nurse coverage is available 24/7; night charge typically carries a patient assignment. Travelers may serve as charge if comfortable. - Fast-paced unit with approximately 8-12 discharges and 8-12 admissions per day. RNs are expected to complete their own admissions and discharges, with unit clerk support.
Shift & Scheduling: - Self-scheduling is allowed. - Every other weekend for travelers; for nights, weekend shifts are Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon. - Holiday coverage may be required based on unit needs. - Call or standby may occur if census is low, but it is very rare.
Floating Requirements: - Travelers are worked into the float rotation and may float anywhere in the hospital, including ICU (rare) and stepdown, with assignments limited to their skill set.
14 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
