Porter Medical Center is hiring an Environmental Services Supervisor to join their team!

Please note: This position is scheduled for evenings.

The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for overseeing housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility. This role includes supervising staff, maintaining compliance with OSHA and infection control standards, and ensuring quality control in all environmental services activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise daily housekeeping and laundry operations, ensuring adherence to safety and sanitation standards.

  • Train and orient new employees on cleaning procedures, chemical safety, and equipment use.

  • Monitor workflow and quality of cleaning through daily facility tours and checklists.

  • Issue and track supplies, maintain accurate records, and report equipment repairs promptly.

  • Provide in-service training and assist with performance evaluations and staff counseling.

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Leadership & Supervision – Ability to guide, train, and motivate staff effectively.

  • Safety & Compliance – Knowledge of OSHA regulations, infection control, and chemical safety.

  • Communication Skills – Clear and professional interaction with staff, patients, and management.

  • Problem-Solving & Decision-Making – Ability to resolve issues, manage grievances, and maintain workflow efficiency.

  • Attention to Detail & Quality Control – Ensuring cleanliness standards and proper documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High graduate or GED. 

  • Knowledge of institutional housekeeping techniques with at least three years of experience, supervisory experience preferred. 

  • Knowledge of housekeeping equipment and cleaning supplies.

  • Ability to maintain accurate record-keeping and documentation.

  • CHEST certification

  • Ability to maintain confidentially and good public relations.

  • Demonstrates ability to provide clear expectations to department personnel.

  • Displays professional appearance and attitude.

  • Ability to work with management members.
