AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a part-time, fully remote Water Treatment Engineer join our Denver, CO office. In this role, you will contribute to multidisciplinary teams that partner with public and private clients to plan and deliver solutions across drinking water treatment, wastewater treatment, water reuse, and resiliency. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions for our clients.   

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Support planning and design tasks for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Assist with engineering calculations and technical evaluations
  • Support preparation of deliverables such as technical memoranda, basis of design documentation, reports, and presentations.
  • Contribute to development of design packages including drawings coordination, specifications, and opinions of probable cost (under supervision).
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to align treatment needs with overall facility design.
  • Review and organize project data (water quality, operational data, field observations) and summarize findings clearly.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA.BS degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field of study and 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field of study.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Familiarity with modeling software and tools such as AutoCAD, Excel, Revit, and/or GIS
  • Coursework familiarity with treatment fundamentals (filtration, disinfection, treatment)
  • Internship/co-op experience in water/wastewater
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
