Start your librarianship career in a role where you’ll be both supported and empowered to make a difference. As a Research and Instruction Librarian at CSU Pueblo, you’ll work closely with a small, experienced team to teach information literacy, collaborate with faculty, and guide students—many from diverse and high-need backgrounds—through every stage of the research process.
You’ll create engaging research guides and learning tools, provide reference support across in-person and virtual formats, and help shape programs that bring the library’s services into the heart of campus life. You’ll also take on a leadership role in the library’s Learning, Innovating, and Networking Center (LINC), supervising full-time and student staff and helping create a vibrant space where technology, tutoring, and collaboration come together.

Primary Duties
Support User Services and Manage LINC
Supports the User Services department:
- Provides information literacy instruction sessions,
- Participates in library assessment processes for student learning outcomes
- Creates research guides and/or instructional videos
- Provides consultation to faculty and students related to research, information literacy, and scholarly communication.
- Provides reference services in multiple modalities including face-to-face, chat, video, and email as scheduled (possibly including some nights or weekends)
Manage the LINC:
- Hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates student staff
- Collaborates with other User Services librarians to train students for Tier 1 Reference services
- Supervises LINC event and innovation lab coordinator
- Supervises Circulation Supervisor
- Coordinates with other campus constituents to facilitate use of the LINC
Coordinate Library Outreach
- Coordinates communication with library constituents across the campus and community to market library services including email, social media, and print based communication:
- Promotes the role and value of the library to campus constituents
- Cooperates with campus communications staff
- Assists the Dean with community outreach
- Assists the Dean’s office with event planning and management
Scholarship and Service
- Performs sustained inquiry into one’s discipline leading to practical application within the library as well as research resulting in published or presented scholarly output.
- Serves the library, the university, and the profession through active membership on boards, committees, panels, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library Science (M.L.S. or equivalent) from an ALA accredited institution
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Educational Technology, Communications, Marketing, or related field
- Reference and instruction experience in an academic library
- Demonstrated knowledge of a wide variety of educational technology applications.
- Experience in a position requiring collaboration with diverse groups and effective communication of ideas.
- Demonstrated planning and leadership skills, with prior experience requiring working independently, taking initiative, and setting goals and priorities.
- Demonstrated experience in a position requiring management of a team of employees to achieve results. Experience with marketing or outreach.
- Experience with event planning.
- Project management experience.
- Experience at a regional comprehensive university.
- Experience in a position that required excellent customer service

Salary
$50,000 to $58,000
