The Grants Manager is responsible for leading a comprehensive grants program that identifies, develops, and secures funding from foundation, corporate, and government sources. This role partners closely with hospital and foundation leadership to advance strategic priorities, oversee grant administration and reporting, and maximize funding opportunities that support the Franciscan Health mission and the communities we serve.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Coordinate with the Director of Grant Administration, the divisional foundation’s Executive Director, and hospital(s) President and/or CEO to determine strategy and set priorities for seeking funding sources.
Work with appropriate parties to develop a comprehensive list of new and existing Hospital programs that could be funded via grants.
Identify and actively seek funding sources.
Research, interpret, and identify eligibility for funding.
Analyze scope of potential grant programs and their impact on the hospital’s(s’) community.
Prepare a quarterly report with potential funding sources, listing the applicable hospital programs which would meet the funding criteria.
Maintain schedule for timely submissions of grant proposals.
Create and maintain grant proposal timeline/assignments spreadsheet for each proposal in process.
Initiate direct contact with external grants officers of potential funders to assure interest in proposed project and to ascertain current guideline changes/directives.
Write, edit, and package cultivation materials, written proposals, and solicitations.
Prepare all supplementary materials (e.g., letter of intent, support letters, budget, data collection).
Process proposal drafts through Executive Director and the Director of Grant Administration for timely reviews and input.
Support the grant preparation process timeline for early submission.
Serve as a project manager by creating a Grants Team for each proposal, consisting of the appropriate facility points of contact to review grant timelines/deadlines and information needs for grant proposals.
Attend all necessary meetings to ensure proper reporting tools and information are available.
Develop correspondence and follow-up reports for funders based on a “flagged” calendar system of deadlines for reporting.
Create and implement grant tracking mechanisms which will help assess the goals and objectives and financial data, in order to provide accountability to funders.
Monitor ongoing activities of grant-funded programs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree - Required
Master's Degree - Preferred
3 years proven track record in grant writing including, but not limited to, local state, and federal government grants, proposals and funding requests to private, community, or family foundations (ranging from $5000 to $2M) - Required
