Position Description:

This position is responsible for setting up and operating the full range of machine tools in the machine shop. Machines could include numerically controlled machine tools lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, hobs, hones, kummers, burnishers or balancers.

Pay based on level of experience and qualifications.

Required Skills:
  • Reads, interprets and understands blueprints and operation sheets.
  • Performs functions to set up and operate standard types of machines to complete single or progressive operations on standard parts. Machines could include lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, hobs, hones, kummers, burnishers or balancers.
  • May be required to assists less experience machinists.
  • Must have working knowledge of shop math, be able to read blueprints, and understand operation sheets.
  • Must be capable of using a wide variety of precision measuring instruments.

Required Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Completion of 2-year Technical School training preferred.
  • 3 years of hands-on shop or manufacturing experience required, 4-6 years Machining experience preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of shop math, be able to read blueprints, and understand operation sheets.
  • Completion of Technical School training preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
