Software Engineering Co-op (Signal Processing)

We’re seeking talented students to join Sonos’s Co-Op Program and explore what it means to blend creativity, technology, and sound. Our co-ops are an essential part of our team, bringing fresh ideas, learning from experts, and helping us push the boundaries of what’s possible. Come broaden your skills, share your input and pursue your passion with our 6 month co-op experience.

Work Period: January 2027 - June 2027

Location & Schedule: This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with a minimum 4 days per week onsite in our Boston, MA  office. There is no relocation or housing assistance for this position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Create and test for software for internal tooling for audio product development
• Research signal processing and machine learning techniques for audio product development
• Collaborate with other developers on a team and learn the software development lifecycle, continuous integration, and ticketing systems.
• Learn in-depth about audio product development

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Basic Qualifications

• Academic exposure to Digital Signal Processing concepts like filtering, aliasing, etc.
• Exposure to embedded concepts like working with dev boards
• Be teachable and willing to persist with unfamiliar technical areas
• Be curious and pro-active about researching problems
• Be communicative with others and willing to debate your ideas

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building audio-related academic or hobby projects
• Interest in audio technology and specifically musical applications
• Comfortable with Linux and/or command line interface

PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in a College or University with a preferred field of study in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Acoustics, Physics, or Music Technology
• Available to participate in our full-time co-op program from January - June 2027
• Ability to work out of our Boston office a minimum 4 days per week
