Technician – HPLC/LCMS - Weekend 2nd shift (part-time)

Celerion has a 2nd shift Part-Time Weekend opening for a Technician – HPLC/LCMS in our Bioanalytical Division in Lincoln, NE.This position provides an hourly pay rate plus shift differential.  This is a great opportunity for someone looking for weekend evening work (4pm-12:30am). After training, you will be scheduled primarily on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Do you have an interest in, or basic knowledge of, HPLC or LC/MS/MS techniques? If so, this could be the position for you! In this role, you will be responsible for performing analytical analysis of samples using chromatography and mass spectrometry in our nicotine-free laboratory environment.

We are only considering candidates currently local to Lincoln, NE at this time. This role starts at $22 per hour, plus a 5% shift differential. 

Responsibilities:

• You will be trained to set up, operate, evaluate, monitor, troubleshoot system issues, instrument batches, and perform routine maintenance to the level of training on HPLC, and LC-MS/MS systems
• Responsible for completing the minimum assigned daily lab duties of 4 batches
• Take inventory of systems and equipment, active in column organization, prepare mobile phase and solutions
• Document clearly and accurately, and create, edit, and troubleshoot run sheets
• Proficient with all required quantification software programs

Requirements:

• Experience in Mass spectrometry or HPLC is preferred but is not required
• Previous coursework in chemistry or a related field, with a degree preferred
• Strong mechanical inclination is a plus
• We are seeking candidates with working knowledge of GLP’s.
• Basic knowledge of computers is also required
• Bona Fide Occupational Qualification: This position requires candidates to be a non-nicotine/ tobacco user.This role is responsible for preparing solutions that cannot be contaminated with nicotine.  This position is in continuous contact with the main glassware storage area which cannot be contaminated with nicotine.  Nicotine is a volatile compound and a nicotine user simply being in the same room as the glassware can raise the nicotine levels in that glassware above our limit of detection and cause contamination issues with regard to our studies.

Shift:

• Training will be conducted Monday – Saturday, 4PM - 12:30AM, 3 days per week
• Post-training – primarily working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 4PM - 12:30AM. An occasional weekday may be requested.
