Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Pennsylvania license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

Special Requests: If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Self-scheduling and blocked schedules are allowed as long as unit needs are met.

Unit Details: Remote telemetry patients are monitored by the monitor tech on the 3rd floor; there are no monitors on this unit, and nurses do not read strips. Drips include heparin and possibly MSO4 for comfort measures; no cardiac gtts. BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow are managed by RT. 1W patient population is mainly post-surgical and orthopedic. 2E patient population is mainly MedSurg, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, end of life, and low-volume inpatient chemo. The director and manager administer chemo. COVID patients may be housed on a separate “dirty” hallway, while “clean” patients are housed on a different hallway. Clinicians could be assigned to both clean and dirty patients at the same time and must be comfortable with this.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are weekend shifts for both days and nights. Required to work 2 Fridays per schedule. Most staff group their Friday with their weekend shifts, working Fri/Sat/Sun. Work into the permanent staff holiday rotation.

Floating Requirements: Floating is only to other MedSurg units.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
