We are seeking a seasoned and innovative EDM Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a key player in the development and improvement of our manufacturing processes, utilizing their expertise in EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) to drive efficiency and productivity. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on exciting projects, and to be part of a team that is passionate about manufacturing and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
As an EDM Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:
1. Developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
2. Designing and implementing robust CNC programs for EDM machines to optimize productivity and quality.
3. Utilizing SolidWorks to design fixtures and tooling for the manufacturing process.
4. Applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes.
5. Conducting First Article Inspections (FAI) to ensure compliance with design specifications.
6. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues.
7. Ensuring all manufacturing processes and procedures are in compliance with AS9100 quality standards.
8. Providing technical support and training to production staff as needed.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this exciting role, candidates must possess:
1. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering role, specifically with EDM.
3. Proficiency in SolidWorks and CNC programming.
4. Strong knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
5. Experience conducting First Article Inspections (FAI).
6. Previous experience in an AS9100-certified manufacturing environment.
7. Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively.
8. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
9. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
10. A proactive approach, with the ability to take initiative and drive projects to completion.
