Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Nephrology or urology background preferred.
Special Requests: - Willing to work with block scheduling and traveler needs while still fulfilling unit needs. - Holidays may be negotiable.
Unit Details: - Common diagnoses/types of patients: ESRD; AKI; hemo- and peritoneal dialysis patients, parathyroidectomies (some with auto-implants), ileal conduit creations, TURPs, prostatectomies, kidney stones, graft/fistula repairs, deceased and living donor kidney and pancreas transplant both new post-op and rejection, transplant biopsies, gen-med overflow. - Overhead lift equipment in all rooms. - Charge nurse and house supervisor are available 24/7; the charge nurse normally does not take patients but may have a small team if staffing requires. - 2 PCTs on all shifts; PCT duties include vital signs, baths, activity, accu-cheks, foley removal, and emptying and hanging CBI, but they do not titrate it. - No vents. Bi-pap or C-pap for sleep only. Rare trached or heated high flow patients. Respiratory therapists are available for assistance and treatments; RNs administer inhalers. - Telemetry is monitored by TeleTechs on another unit. Nurses are not required to read or interpret telemetry information and receive a page for rhythm changes and rhythm or HR specifics. Phillips monitors.
Shift & Scheduling: - Self-scheduling available; scheduling needs can be discussed with the supervisor. - Every other weekend; for nights, weekends are Fri, Sat, Sun. May not need to work as many weekends on night shift due to weekend-only unit staff positions. - Every other holiday. - No call shifts.
Floating Requirements: - Float to other general med units. May be asked to float as a sitter or to ED or ICUs as helper only, but these situations are very infrequent, if ever.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
