This 13-week Physical Therapist opportunity is based in Abbeville, South Carolina, a picturesque small town known for its historic charm, tree-lined streets, and welcoming community atmosphere. Located in the Upstate region, Abbeville offers easy access to beautiful outdoor spaces, lakes, and parks, making it an excellent choice for clinicians who enjoy a relaxed pace of life with plenty of opportunities for recreation. The town’s historic downtown square features local shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions, and you are within a reasonable drive of larger cities for additional dining, entertainment, and travel options. The facility provides a supportive, community-oriented environment where Physical Therapists play a key role in improving function and quality of life for patients across the region. You can expect to work within a collaborative care team that values open communication, patient-centered care, and safe practice. The team atmosphere is designed to help new clinicians integrate quickly, with a focus on shared decision-making, mutual respect, and a strong commitment to clinical excellence. This is a full-time role with a 5x8 schedule, totaling approximately 40 hours per week. Shifts are structured to support work–life balance while ensuring consistent patient access to therapy services. On-call responsibilities are not anticipated for this assignment, minimizing disruptions to your schedule. The 13-week duration provides a clear, defined timeline, ideal for professionals seeking a focused, temporary opportunity that still offers continuity of care and meaningful patient relationships. Your typical day will include performing evaluations, developing individualized plans of care, and delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions. You will work with a mix of diagnoses that may include post-operative rehabilitation, musculoskeletal conditions, neurologic disorders, balance and gait impairments, and general deconditioning. Patient populations are primarily adult and geriatric, although specific caseload mix may vary based on facility needs. The patient load is managed to support safe, high-quality care and thorough documentation. You will be responsible for comprehensive assessments, goal setting, and progression of treatment plans, as well as accurate and timely documentation in the facility’s EMR system. Collaboration with physicians, nursing, and other allied health professionals is a key part of the role, ensuring that each patient’s care plan is coordinated and consistent. Education of patients and their families about home exercises, functional adaptations, and strategies for maintaining progress at home is an important element of daily practice. The environment is well-suited for Physical Therapists who value hands-on, community-based care and the opportunity to make a visible difference in patients’ daily lives. This assignment can be a strong resume builder for those seeking more experience in a rural setting or wanting to demonstrate adaptability and excellence in a close-knit, patient-focused environment.
