Job Title: Customer Service Representative
Job Description
The Customer Service Representative provides front-line support to customers by phone, email, and chat, delivering timely, professional, and friendly assistance. This role focuses on resolving inquiries related to orders, billing, and product information, while ensuring each customer receives clear communication and thorough follow-up. The position contributes to a collaborative team environment and supports both individual and team service goals.
Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat in a timely, professional, and friendly manner.
- Assist customers with order status, billing questions, and general product information, ensuring clear and accurate information is provided.
- Identify complex or sensitive issues and escalate them to team members or supervisors when appropriate.
- Follow up with customers to confirm their issues are fully resolved and that they are satisfied with the outcome.
- Document customer interactions accurately to support efficient follow-up and internal communication.
- Use data entry skills and office software to update customer records, process requests, and track resolutions.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive, supportive, and service-oriented environment.
- Meet or exceed individual and team service goals, including response times, quality standards, and customer satisfaction targets.
- Apply strong attention to detail when managing multiple conversations and tasks simultaneously.
- Adhere to scheduled on-site hours and demonstrate reliability and punctuality for all assigned shifts.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of prior experience in customer service or another customer-facing role.
- Proven customer service skills, including the ability to handle inquiries and resolve issues professionally.
- Data entry skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Clear, courteous written and verbal communication skills.
- A patient, positive attitude, especially when assisting frustrated or upset customers.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple conversations and tasks at the same time.
- Basic computer skills and comfort learning new software such as email platforms, chat tools, and order systems.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled on-site shifts.
- Associates Degree or equivalent level of education.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with QuickBooks is a strong plus.
- Experience with LabelTraxx or similar order management systems is beneficial.
- Fluency in a second language is highly desirable.
- Bilingual communication skills that support assisting a broader customer base.
Work Environment
This role is fully on-site in Ridgefield, NJ, in a professional office setting that supports phone, email, and chat-based customer interactions. The standard work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with an expectation of consistent attendance and punctuality. You will work with office technology such as computers, Microsoft Office applications, and customer service platforms for email, chat, and order systems. The environment emphasizes collaboration, clear communication, and a customer-first mindset, with a focus on meeting service goals and supporting one another as a team.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ridgefield, NJ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.04 - $28.84/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
