Position Overview

Gotham Enterprises Ltd is seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at our rehabilitation center located in Memphis, Tennessee. This full-time position will focus on providing exceptional patient care by assisting licensed Physical Therapists in implementing comprehensive therapeutic treatment plans designed to enhance recovery, mobility, and overall quality of life for our patients.

Work Environment

Our state-of-the-art rehabilitation clinic is located onsite within a hospital facility, ensuring a collaborative healthcare environment. You will work alongside a passionate team of healthcare professionals, including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists, who are all dedicated to providing the highest standard of care. The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with occasional flexibility needed to respond to patient needs and clinic operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Physical Therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs, focusing on recovering mobility and strength.
  • Guide and instruct patients through a range of therapeutic exercises, stretches, and activities designed to enhance physical well-being and alleviate pain.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients regarding proper body mechanics, exercise techniques, and home exercise programs to support their rehabilitation journey.
  • Administer various modalities, including electrical stimulation, ultrasound, and heat/cold therapy, under the supervision of the Physical Therapist to facilitate recovery.
  • Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, tracking metrics such as range of motion, strength improvement, and functional capabilities.
  • Prepare and organize treatment spaces and ensure that necessary equipment and supplies are readily accessible for therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging atmosphere for patients, helping them stay motivated throughout their rehabilitation process.
  • Maintain the highest standards of professionalism and ethical practice, ensuring patient confidentiality at all times.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The physical therapy program serves a diverse patient demographic, including individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, neurological disorders, sports injuries, age-related mobility issues, and more. The PTA will be vital in adapting treatment approaches to meet the unique physical and emotional needs of each patient, ensuring their experience in therapy is productive and encouraging.

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program is mandatory.
  • A valid state license or certification to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant is required.
  • Thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, and evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in implementing therapeutic exercises and modalities, working collaboratively with a Physical Therapist.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate effectively with patients, their families, and healthcare team members.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary ranging from USD 50,000 to 65,000, commensurate with experience.
