Position Summary/Department Summary:
We are seeking an Inpatient General Surgery Social Worker to provide a range of clinical social work services to children, adolescents, and their families. In this role, you will work closely with a strong multidisciplinary team to support patients and families throughout their hospital experience. This is an excellent opportunity for a social worker who enjoys a collaborative environment and is passionate about helping children and families navigate complex medical situations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Psychosocial screening and assessments, counseling, and crisis intervention
  • Resource information and referral, facilitation of use of hospital and community resources
  • Psychosocial consultation to the multidisciplinary health care team

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Master’s degree in social work

Experience:
  • Flexibility and ability to work in fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment as well as excellent communication and consultation skills.
  • Previous medical social work experience preferred
  • Experience with child protection and bereavement counseling helpful.

Licensure:
  • State of MA LCSW, State of MA LICSW preferred
This is a 32-hour position, with four, 8 hour days 8:30a-5:00p. Coverage needs are Monday and Friday, with flexibility for scheduled day off being Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

This position is 100% onsite and is eligible for full time benefits

New hires are eligible for a $4,000 sign on bonus!


The posted pay range is Boston Children’s reasonable and good-faith expectation for this pay at the time of posting.

Any base pay offer provided depends on skills, experience, education, certifications, and a variety of other job-related factors.
