Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• ASN completion required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 24 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Unit Details: Assess ortho and medical/surgical patients every shift. Educate ortho and medical/surgical patients on wound care, proper mobility, self-care, medication management, care transition needs and any additional patient-specific needs. Coordinate with physician and surgeon partners on the care of ortho and medical/surgical patients. Delegate and monitor interventions of the HCT staff. Set up ortho traction and manipulate surgical traction devices for mobility and wound care. Manage wound appliances such as wound vacs, drains, pouches and other urological devices.

Shift & Scheduling: The schedule includes 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period. Holiday shifts are rotating.

Floating Requirements: Travelers assigned to the Greater Peoria Service Area may be required to float between the following sites: Carle Health Methodist Hospital, Carle Health Pekin Hospital, and/or Carle Health Proctor Hospital. The Carle Leader will notify the traveler directly when there is a need to float between locations. Float to similar units.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
