Key Responsibilities

• Assist in executing tailored treatment plans conceived by the supervising Physical Therapist, utilizing a variety of techniques including therapeutic exercises, modalities, and manual therapy interventions.
• Conduct hands-on therapy sessions to help patients improve their mobility, strength, and overall functional capacity, following evidence-based practices.
• Monitor and document patient progress meticulously, noting any changes and notifying the supervising therapist to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families on exercises and rehabilitation techniques, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery process.
• Work cohesively with the healthcare team to discuss patient progress and contribute to meetings focused on achieving optimal patient outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records following best practices for documentation.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily engage with adult patients recovering from various orthopedic conditions, including sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic pain management. Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy Assistance or a related field is required.
• Current and active Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of New York.
• A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in an orthopedic setting is essential.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy.
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care and engage positively with patients.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration with patients and healthcare professionals effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a hospital or high-acuity therapeutic environment is highly preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
