Work Environment

This position is situated in a hospital setting, where you will work collaboratively on-site with physical therapists and other healthcare professionals. The facility is equipped with advanced rehabilitation technology and provides a positive atmosphere focused on patient well-being. You will benefit from a structured work schedule, operating Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to patients' specific rehabilitation needs.
• Provide hands-on therapy, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and use of specialized equipment, to help patients improve their functional capabilities.
• Educate patients and their families on exercise regimens and post-rehabilitation strategies to support long-term recovery.
• Monitor and document patients' progress during therapy sessions, ensuring accurate reporting to physical therapists for ongoing evaluation.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, participating in patient assessments and contributing to comprehensive care plans.
• Utilize trigger point therapy techniques to alleviate muscle tension and improve overall patient comfort and mobility.
• Support the occupational health initiatives of the facility, fostering a culture of wellness within the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Muscleworks will involve working with a diverse patient population, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, chronic pain conditions, and mobility issues. You will be instrumental in facilitating rehabilitation journeys that empower patients of all ages to regain strength, independence, and quality of life.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field is required.
• Must possess a current and active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) state license.
• A minimum of two years of relevant experience as a PTA in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential.
• Demonstrated proficiency in various manual therapy techniques and rehabilitation modalities.
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, with excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients and their families.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in orthopedic rehabilitation, sports therapy, or pain management.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems to document patient interactions effectively.
• Continued education or certifications in specialized therapeutic techniques will be an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits
