Financial Planning Analyst

  • Full-time; Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm Location: Downers Grove, IL

The Financial Analyst, FP&A (Revenue) supports the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in delivering financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and business partnering across the organization’s revenue functions. This role provides critical support for the Director’s ownership of patient volume and department revenue reporting, relationship management with Clinical Operations and physician leaders, and revenue forecasting efforts. The Analyst brings an entrepreneurial, continuous-improvement mindset to this work, identifying and applying AI and automation opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and the value delivered to key stakeholders. 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES 

Financial & Operational Reporting (30%) 

  • Collaborate directly with Clinical Operations leaders, physician leaders, and C-Suite executives serving as the revenue business unit finance partner, supporting variance analysis for patient volume and service line revenue under the Director, Financial Planning & Analysis direction 

  • Partners with supporting accounting and finance teams to research and document revenue variance drivers for Monthly Operating Review materials 

  • Supports preparation of presentation materials for Board of Directors meetings and other executive/external reporting 

  • Brings an entrepreneurial, continuous-improvement mindset to revenue reporting and consolidation workflows, identifying opportunities where AI and automation can reduce manual effort and improve accuracy 

Revenue Forecast & Budget Support (45%) 

  • Supports the planning and execution of the monthly patient volume and service line revenue forecast process under the Director’s guidance, including information gathering, data preparation, and model maintenance 

  • Develops productive relationships with Clinical Operations and physician leaders to understand patient volume trends and service line dynamics, and to perform regular forecast and budget adjustments for alignment with strategic objectives 

  • Assists in preparing budget inputs and revenue financial models 

  • Conducts patient volume and revenue trend analysis and prepares variance narratives for Clinical Operations leaders and physician partners 

  • Champions the use of AI-enabled tools to improve forecast turnaround, submission tracking, and trend/variance narrative development 

Enterprise Resource Planning Support (15%) 

  • Supports the Director’s efforts in contributing to the enterprise-wide OneStream redesign and implementation for financial and revenue operational reporting 

  • Assists in identifying revenue data requirements across finance, Clinical Operations, and physician leadership stakeholders 

  • Partners with key stakeholders to identify and document reporting needs 

  • Performs ad hoc analysis and deliverables as project needs arise 

  • Identifies and pilots AI use cases to improve data gathering, requirements documentation, and reporting design during the implementation 

Professional Development (10%) 

  • Pursues ongoing development of technical and financial acumen, including deepening proficiency in OneStream, AI, Excel, and other finance systems relevant to the role 

  • Stays current on healthcare finance, patient volume, service line, and value-based care revenue trends relevant to the business 

  • Actively seeks feedback and applies it to improve analytical rigor and communication of findings 

  • Pursues relevant professional development opportunities (training, certifications, or continuing education) in partnership with the Director

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA) 

  • Advanced or expert-level proficiency with Microsoft Excel; advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications 

  • Knowledge of EPM/ERP platforms (OneStream, Hyperion, IBM Planning Analytics, SAP, etc.) preferred; not required 

  • Familiarity and comfort using LLM and other AI-related tools 

  • Intermediate knowledge of SQL for reporting preferred; not required 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate patient volume and revenue data into clear narratives for Clinical Operations, physician leaders, and senior leadership 

  • Attention to detail, ability to work independently, and ability to bring assigned projects to successful completion 

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $58K-$87K, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
