What You’ll Do:
- The Plumbing Technician will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems in commercial and industrial settings.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
- Read blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials
- Diagnose plumbing issues and perform necessary repairs
- Inspect plumbing systems for safety and functionality
- Drain cleaning
- Collaborate with internal skilled trades, Operations, and contractors
- Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
Education:
- You have your High School Diploma/GED
What Skills You Need:
- Completion of a plumbing apprenticeship program or vocational training
- Valid plumbing license (as required by local/state regulations)
- Proven experience as a plumber
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, and equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Physical stamina and dexterity
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in various weather conditions
- May require lifting heavy materials and working in confined spaces
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Experience with both residential and commercial plumbing
- Certification in backflow prevention
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and occupied buildings.
- Ability to distinguish wire colors and use diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to respond to after-hours emergencies when required.
Work Environment:
This position operates in office, laboratory, industrial, and mechanical room environments. Occasional after-hours support may be required for critical facility systems, outages, commissioning activities, and emergency response situations.
