We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team at the Athletics Therapy Center, located in Woodbridge, Virginia. Key Responsibilities
- Implement and carry out personalized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, ensuring adherence to best practices and safety protocols.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, mobility training, and pain management strategies, promoting recovery and enhancing quality of life.
- Regularly document patient progress in electronic health records, detailing improvements and potential areas of concern, while communicating effectively with the care team regarding treatment outcomes.
- Create a positive and engaging environment for patients during therapy sessions, fostering motivation and enthusiasm to achieve their rehabilitation goals.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercises and recovery strategies to encourage their commitment to the rehabilitation process.
- Collaborate with nursing and therapy staff to enhance each patient's experience, ensuring comprehensive care and addressing any specialized needs.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily work with adults and seniors recovering from various conditions, including orthopedic surgeries, neurological disorders, and chronic pain syndromes. Understanding the unique challenges faced by these patient populations, you will employ tailored therapeutic interventions to help restore their functionality and independence.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is required, complemented by an Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program.
- Must possess an active PTA license in Virginia, or be eligible for licensure in the state.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, enabling you to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with team members.
Preferred Experience
- At least two years of experience in a hospital or clinical setting, particularly within geriatric or rehabilitation services is preferred.
- Experience with electronic health record systems and familiarity with patient management software will be advantageous in this role.
- A strong background in patient-centered care approaches, particularly in diverse populations.
Compensation and Benefits
The Athletics Therapy Center offers a competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $75,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
