Summary of Responsibilities:
About the RoleATC is looking for a Vegetation Management – Environmental Field Intern to join our team for the summer. This role will support critical environmental work in our transmission corridors by conducting field surveys for pollinator species, contributing to permitting and compliance efforts, and building hands-on experience in sustainable infrastructure development. This is a great opportunity for students with a strong interest in ecology, conservation, and utility-scale environmental work.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct field surveys to identify and monitor endangered and threatened butterfly and other pollinator species in transmission line corridors (80–90% of time)
• Support environmental review and permitting processes with biological data and field observations (5–10%)
• Perform data entry and reporting for ecological fieldwork, including GIS mapping and online documentation (5–10%)
• Collaborate with utility industry professionals and environmental consultants through project work and networking
• Contribute to the energy transition by supporting sustainable vegetation management practices

The pay range for this position is $23-27/hr. The pay range is a general guideline. Employment offers are evaluated individually and consider qualifications, experience and academic achievements.
