Position Overview:

The Supervisor, Viability leads a team responsible for product viability processes and operational support with the Product Distribution Center (PDC). The role oversees developing individual team members, cross-functional issue resolution, compliance activities, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Supervisor partners with technical departments, Receiving, Customer Returns, and other stakeholders to ensure product viability programs, policies and procedures are effectively and consistently administered, support business objectives, and comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of professional associates while overseeing departmental activities, processes, and cross-functional collaboration

  • Anticipating future needs, including staffing, training, automation, and process innovation, serve as a change champion

  • Perform manager responsibilities as needed

  • Act as the primary point of contact to review PDC technical responses and communicating product concerns impact order fulfillment process and product viability

  • Investigate, resolve, and escalate issues related to defective, damaged, non-conforming, counterfeit, and returned products, partnering with Product Managers, Quality, Customer Returns, and other departments as needed

  • Review product lines, handling methods, storage practices, and product portfolio changes to ensure efficient order fulfillment, maintain compliance, and recommend product line additions, modifications, or terminations based on PDC capabilities

  • Coordinate annual equipment certification to the DigiKey standards and maintain relationships with third-party calibration providers

  • Coordinate and Facilitate UL audits and MSL handling process, including removal, baking and restocking activities

  • Maintain and update product viability guidelines and operational procedures as the product portfolio expands

  • Serve as an escalation point for counterfeit control matters related to customer returns

  • Maintain Hazmat certification (company provided) and participate as a member of the Hazmat Council

  • May organize and lead or participate projects, programs, and initiatives that may require flexible or non-standard work hours

  • May travel - domestically as needed

  • May participate on cross-functional committees, task forces, and special projects

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Associates degree; preferred concentration in Electronics.   

  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other business systems (are there specific ones you want to call out here?) relevant to this position

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to interpret and leverage operational and statistical data to drive business decisions,

  • Effective coaching, communication, and feedback skills with the ability to influence positive outcomes

  • Strong conflict resolution and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate cross-functional issues 

  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills

  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism

  • 3+ Digi-Key &/or industry experience in Order Fulfillment, people leadership, or other relevant work experience (preferred)

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to twist or bend and occasionally climb stairs 
  • Able to reach with hands and arms above shoulder level
  • Generally, spend the workday sitting at a workstation and operating computer devices, such as, but not limited to keyboard, mouse and screen
  • Generally, spend the workday performing repetitive motions that involve or affect the hands, head, and other parts of your body
  • Capable of spending 8-10 hours walking/standing on concrete
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder height

Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is:

$29.50

to

$40.75
