Job Title: Manager HIM Operations and Coding
Compensation
Salary Range: $100,000 – $115,000 per year
Location: Nassau County, Long Island, NY
Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)
Position Summary
As the Manager, HIM Operations & Coding, you will provide leadership and oversight for Health Information Management (HIM) Operations and Hospital Coding services. This role is responsible for managing coding operations, chart completion, release of information, document imaging, record integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational performance. Working closely with Revenue Cycle, CDI, Revenue Integrity, Compliance, IT, and clinical leadership, you will help optimize documentation, coding accuracy, reimbursement, and revenue cycle performance.

Key Duties:
- Provide operational leadership for HIM and Coding functions, including staffing, productivity, scheduling, payroll, and performance management
- Oversee inpatient and outpatient coding operations while ensuring compliance with ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS, Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements
- Manage HIM functions including chart completion, deficiency management, release of information, document imaging, and record integrity activities
- Partner with Revenue Cycle, CDI, Revenue Integrity, Patient Financial Services, and Patient Access teams to improve DNFB performance and reduce revenue leakage
- Support coding audits, compliance initiatives, vendor oversight, Meditech Expanse implementation activities, and operational improvement projects
Requirements
Education
- Required: Bachelor’s Degree
- Preferred (if applicable): N/A
Licenses & Certifications
- Required: CPC and CCS or CIC certification
- Additional certifications (if applicable): RHIA or RHIT certification preferred
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and hospital reimbursement methodologies
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing coding, HIM operations, productivity, quality, and operational performance
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Meditech and/or Meditech Expanse, revenue cycle transformation initiatives, and HIM operations preferred
