Emergency Technician Lead

The Schedule
- Full-time | Three 12-hour shifts per week
- First- and second-shift openings available
- Some holidays required
The Role
As Emergency Technician Lead, you ll be a key leader within our ER team, partnering with doctors, technicians, support staff, clients, and referring veterinarians to deliver exceptional patient care and keep the department running smoothly.
What You ll Do
As an Emergency Technician Lead, you will:
- With ER manager, lead daily ER workflow, including patient flow, staff assignments, and delegation.
- Support and mentor the technician team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
- Oversee patient care, including triage, stabilization, critical care, and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate treatments and diagnostics, including medications, fluid therapy, imaging, bloodwork, ECGs, and anesthesia monitoring.
- Monitor patients and advocate for their needs, recognizing changes in condition and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Ensure accurate documentation, including medical records, treatment sheets, and controlled drug logs.
- Support client care, including admissions, discharges, transfers, and client education.
- Train and onboard team members, helping develop clinical skills and confidence.
- Partner with ER leadership to improve patient care, team communication, workflow, and department operations.
What We re Looking For
- LVT/CVT/RVT or very experienced Veterinary Assistant
- Strong clinical skills and a solid understanding of emergency medicine
- Confident communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable with advanced diagnostics, imaging, and anesthesia monitoring
- Familiarity with veterinary software; ezyVet experience is a plus
- A calm, compassionate approach in high-acuity situations
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- A desire to learn, teach, and grow
