LOCATION: Franklin, Wisconsin
Pay : $20.45
Shift: Night Shift, 12-hour 2-2-3 schedule (work every other weekend)
Hours: 5:45 PM to 6:00 AM, with overtime as needed based on business requirements. Start times and hours may vary due to staffing coverage, production schedules, and holiday requirements. Strong attendance and punctuality are required.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE HISTORY HERE…
As a Feedway Operator, you play a critical role in ensuring product flows efficiently through the packaging process while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, product quality, and operational performance. You help prevent cross-contamination, optimize production flow, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives that keep our operations running safely and efficiently.
WHAT YOU WILL DO…
- Manage the flow of product through Fastback conveying systems to ensure efficient line operation.
- Communicate proactively with Processing and Packaging team members regarding:
- Fastback capacity and potential line speed opportunities.
- Timing of product gaps or feed reductions.
- Identification and notification of non-conforming product.
- Prevent cross-contamination by ensuring all covers, stops, plastic wrap, and other protective measures are properly installed and secured.
- Monitor and prevent product backups within the Fastback system.
- Ensure quality product is consistently delivered to weighing and packaging equipment.
- Perform moisture testing and other product quality checks as required.
- Monitor scale performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and report mechanical or electrical concerns to the Lead, Supervisor, or Maintenance team.
- Complete required documentation, including:
- Seasoning Checks
- Feedway and Weigher Startup Checklists
- Additional production and quality documentation as needed
- Verify photo eyes are functioning properly and adjust equipment to maintain appropriate product feed levels.
- Report equipment malfunctions or operational concerns to the Lead, Supervisor, or Maintenance team.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Lead the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of scales, Fastbacks, belts, covers, stops, and plastic wrap during product changeovers.
- Ensure tubs and platforms remain clean and free of debris during shift transitions.
- Provide backup support for Packaging Machine Operators, Packers, and other production positions as needed.
- Assist Leads with coordinating temporary employees and supporting compliance with company policies when requested.
- Identify and recommend process improvements that support a culture of continuous improvement.
- Help protect employees, products, and company assets by reporting and stopping safety, security, quality, or compliance concerns.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers and fellow team members.
- Arrive on time and prepared for work to support uninterrupted production operations.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE… (MUST HAVE)
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of production experience in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work safely while following all food safety, quality, and company policies.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality and equipment issues.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Ability to complete required documentation accurately and timely.
- Ability to perform cleaning, sanitation, and changeover activities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE… (NICE TO HAVE)
- Experience operating Fastback conveying systems, scales, weighers, or packaging equipment.
- Previous food manufacturing or food processing experience.
- Knowledge of food safety, GMPs, sanitation, and quality control requirements.
- Experience performing product quality testing, including moisture testing.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
- Experience training, mentoring, or assisting temporary and newly assigned employees.
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation.
