Wood Moulder Operator

Position Summary

The Wood Moulder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, monitoring, and maintaining wood moulding equipment to produce high-quality wood products according to company specifications and production schedules. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality, machine efficiency, and workplace safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate wood moulder machinery in accordance with production requirements.
• Verify material specifications and ensure correct wood species and dimensions are used.
• Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
• Inspect finished products for defects, accuracy, and compliance with customer specifications.
• Perform routine machine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain production records and document completed work orders.
• Assist with material handling, loading, and unloading of lumber as needed.
• Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and company policies.
• Keep work area organized and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing or woodworking experience preferred.
• Experience operating wood moulders or similar industrial equipment is a plus.
• Ability to read tape measures, production specifications, and work orders.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach for extended periods.
• Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to wood dust, noise, and moving machinery.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
