Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Mission Enabling Products (MEP) Business Unit within the Intelligence Systems Division of Northrop Grumman is in search of a Gerber Operator - Manufacturing Technician - Level 1 to join our team in San Diego.
The MEP Business Unit designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation-related systems to customers around the world. Our main products include satellites and associated space components and services, launch vehicles and related propulsion systems, missile products, subsystems and defense electronics, precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition, and advanced aerospace structures.
Primary Responsibilities:
Handling and managing fragile composite materials. Prep, lay-up and bonding of composite products.
Experience with layup of uni-directional and weave pre-pregs
May report status/progress and interface with other employees and departments.
Tooling preparation and release application.
Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware.
Assist in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness.
Execute to written instructions.
Basic Qualifications for Level 1:
A high school diploma or equivalent degree.
0 - 2 years of experience, working with Gerber or Eastman pattern cutters and Cutworks software.
Assembly experience or mechanical aptitude
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or 2 year Technical degree and 3 years' minimum experience in a manufacturing environment.
A minimum of 1 year of composite lay up experience preferred
