Job Description
As a Security Officer Full Time Armed Mobile Patrol in Birmingham, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Armed Patrol Officer supporting a public transportation location. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to concerns, and provide professional customer service and communication to passengers, employees, and visitors. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, employees, and/or public agency personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of transit facilities, parking areas, platforms, vehicles, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, using de-escalation techniques and requesting law enforcement, medical, and/or supervisory support as needed.
- Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry, and document observations, incidents, and unusual activity in accordance with site procedures.
- Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with applicable laws, licensing requirements, Allied Universal policies, and site-specific procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Possess a valid Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- An armed guard card or license is preferred.
- Handcuffing certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
