About the Opportunity
Step into a pivotal role supporting the legal affairs team dedicated to unscripted content production. This is more than just a support position; it’s a chance to be at the heart of the action, ensuring the smooth legal operation of various projects. You will be instrumental in managing critical legal documentation, streamlining processes, and providing essential guidance that directly impacts the success and compliance of exciting productions. Your work will directly contribute to the efficiency and integrity of legal operations for a diverse range of unscripted programming, from reality series to documentaries.
What You Will Do
- Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support for production-related matters, including indemnity agreements, production services agreements, licenses, talent agreements, and other essential production contracts.
- Draft and meticulously maintain production contracts, licensing agreements, and all associated legal documentation.
- Organize and manage electronic file systems and production records, with a focus on talent files and rights documentation, while also facilitating the transition of physical records to electronic formats.
- Assist in the diligent management and tracking of production agreements across multiple ongoing productions.
- Take responsibility for the accurate and timely execution of legal documents.
- Draft concise summaries and coordinate vital information for all production legal matters.
- Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality when handling sensitive talent and production information.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of dedicated paralegal experience in entertainment law, production law, or contract administration.
- Profound understanding of entertainment and media law principles.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and effectively manage multiple production matters concurrently.
- Exceptional organizational skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with document management systems, including NetDocuments and Docusign, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive talent and production information.
- Track record of meeting tight production timelines and deadlines.
- Extensive experience with talent agreements, releases, and rights documentation.
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or qualifications to be a paralegal by certification or education and work experience as set forth by the American Bar Association and any applicable state codes.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience within television, film, or streaming production environments.
- Familiarity with Excel and AI tools.
