Chief Medical Physicist

Summary:

Responsible for the medical physics, dosimetry, and radiation safety operation at LifeBridge Health system wide.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead or co-lead development of clinical protocols for advanced treatment modalities.
• Participate in research initiatives and contribute to clinical innovations.
• Perform and verify treatment planning and dosimetry calculations.
• Ensure quality control, perform calibrations, and maintain accurate records.
• Conduct acceptance testing for new or upgraded radiation therapy equipment.
• Monitor compliance with state and federal radiation safety standards.
• Provide radiation safety services, including training, surveys, wipe testing, and coordination of radioactive waste disposal.
• Maintain knowledge of current regulations and safety procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Physical Sciences and Radiologic Physics required
• Certification in Therapeutic Medical Physics
• Ph.D. preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical radiation oncology setting strongly preferred
