Full job description
This position may be based out of Midland, TX or The Woodlands, TX.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following:
- Champions the company’s H.S.E.&T program in all aspects of work performed to provide quality service in a safe and efficient manner.
- Reviews company activities and ensures compliance with HSE policies, plans and procedures.
- Provides strategic input and advisement to senior management on HSE relevant topics.
- Directly supervises a staff of HSE professionals in the implementation of HSE programs, processes and strategies for the assigned geographic market.
- Provides supervision, mentoring and coaching to develop HSE personnel in their area of responsibility.
- Compiles and publishes HSE statistics and communicates to all management and personnel.
- Suggests and analyzes balanced performance measures and creates action plans for improvement.
- May lead and/or follow up on incident investigations to ensure close-out and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence and ensure communications of results are shared across the workforce.
- Promotes HSE-related lessons learned and the exchange of HSE information across the workforce with the goal of achieving higher HSE awareness.
- Directs the implementation of the HSE management system (HSEMS).
- Engages in implementation of training programs, report writing, plan development and implementation, proposal/tender reviews and input, researching and interpreting standards and codes, reviewing incident investigation reports, giving presentations.
- May represent the Company by participation in industry associations to develop aligned HSE requirements and share or learn best practices.
- Participates in and assists in the preparation of annual budget and forecasting activities along with the associated inventory tracking requirements.
- Conducts routine site visits (facilities and jobs) and may facilitate audits or inspections with the management team.
- Performs any and all job duties as assigned by supervisory personnel including general labor, as necessary.
- This position is required to perform safety sensitive functions as defined in the CES Drug and Alcohol Plan.

COMPETENCIES:
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related discipline preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
- Seven or more years experience in oilfield operations or an engineering related position preferred.
- Previous management and/or supervisory experience preferred.
- Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
Language Skills
- Advanced public speaking and presentation skills. Must be able to speak, read and write English well enough to read technical documents and effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization.
- Ability to deal with people outside the company in a courteous and tactful manner.
Computer Skills
- Must be able to use a Microsoft Windows computer and Microsoft Office applications.
Other Technical Skills
- Familiar with and able to analyze and interpret OSHA, DOT, NRC, EPA and other related Code of Federal Regulations (CFR sections).
Required Training
- Required HSE Training per Matrix.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- This position must complete a functional capacity evaluation quantifying the physical requirements for the essential functions of the position.
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Employee must be physically able to perform all essential job functions required in this position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, hear, talk, see and smell.
- Specific vision abilities required include depth perception with the ability to focus near and far.
- Must be able to perform, as needed, to include, but not limited to, climbing ladders and/or stairs, working on equipment, lifting, swinging hammers, and working in the elements.
- Employee must be capable of wearing a respirator and must do so in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.140.
OTHER QUALIFICATONS:
- Performs all work with honesty, integrity and in accordance with established RPC and Company specific Standards, Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Performs all work in accordance with customer requirements, where applicable.
- Work environments include, but are not limited to office, shop, or outdoors under all weather conditions.
- May be required to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- May be required to work outside assigned district location to support internal and external customers.
