Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Special Requests: Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. Can only apply to 1 position at a time across the WVU system. Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years. Previous travelers there for 1 full year must be gone for 2 years. Block scheduling allowed if included in the contract.

Unit Details: PCU/Tele unit currently functions at more Tele acuity than PCU/stepdown. Charge nurse coverage varies and may carry a full patient assignment. PCT support varies from 1 to 3 per floor. Uses Phillips cardiac monitors, a central monitor station, and Omnicell. Nurses read strips every 4 hours and document strips and rhythms in the chart. Drips include Cardizem, Amiodarone, Labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, heparin, Integrilin per protocol, and set-rate nitroglycerin. BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow are managed by RT. No IV team. Patient population includes elevated troponin, active chest pain, pre/post cath with and without intervention, post-STEMI after ICU recovery, NSTEMI, pacers, occasional post-surgical hip overflow, and occasional oncology overflow. Peritoneal dialysis is taught on the unit. No titration drips, DKA, or vents.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; nights work Fri/Sat. Travelers may work holidays if needed. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.

Floating Requirements: Rarely floats; may float to ICU overflow, Tele, or Ortho/MedSurg if needed.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
