Based at our Experience Center in Costa Mesa, this is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering a world-class experience for leading Architects, Designers and Specifiers across the Southern California and wider Southwest market.
About the role
This is a multi-dimensional role combining design expertise, product specification and relationship development with the delivery of a luxury customer experience.
You will work closely with Architects, Designers and Specifiers to understand their design requirements, develop accurate product specifications and guide them through the selection process, from initial recommendation through to final selection and delivery.
You will also play an important role in building practice preference for Fisher & Paykel and DCS, developing trusted relationships across the design community and contributing to long-term sales growth and profitability.
What you’ll do
Create a welcoming, highly personalised experience for Architects, Designers, Specifiers and customers visiting the Experience Center.
Develop accurate product specifications, recommendations and configurations based on design requirements, spatial considerations and technical requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Architects, Designers and Specifiers across Orange County, North San Diego, Southern Los Angeles and the wider Southwest.
Proactively identify opportunities to engage new practices and build long-term specification relationships through outbound prospecting, networking and industry events.
Support the development and delivery of designer, customer and industry events, including evening events where required.
Maintain exceptional product knowledge across Fisher & Paykel and DCS, including new product releases, installation requirements and customer outcomes.
Support the day-to-day operation, presentation and upkeep of the Experience Center to the highest standard.
Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the designer and architect community, industry influences, customer trends and design best practice.
Collaborate with Design Engagement, Sales, Marketing and global teams to deliver a seamless, brand-aligned customer experience.
Act as a design liaison for in-market channel requirements, ensuring product and brand information is accurate and relevant.
Provide accurate product assets including descriptions, specifications, drawings, cabinet dimensions and clearances to support feasibility, fit and safety.
Where applicable, manage a small portfolio of targeted SDA relationships, with a focus on brand engagement and ongoing specification outcomes.
Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable country, state and federal legislation, as well as health and safety requirements.
What you’ll bring
You will bring a strong combination of design knowledge, commercial understanding and relationship-building capability, with:
5+ years’ experience within the appliance, building, design, sales or marketing industries.
Experience working with interior designers, kitchen designers, architects and other design professionals.
Experience in a premium or luxury showroom, sales or customer-facing environment.
Strong creative and technical design capability, including the ability to read floor plans and elevations.
A strong understanding of appliance selection, placement and configuration within spatial and proportional kitchen environments.
Comprehensive knowledge of architectural and design practices, trends and principles.
Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships and trusted relationships internally and externally.
A proactive, hunter mentality, with the confidence to self-generate new business through outbound prospecting and relationship development.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a sophisticated design audience.
Strong project planning and management skills, including working with external suppliers and partners.
Commercial understanding of industry, sales and marketing principles, with an ability to use CRM strategies and customer insights to identify opportunities.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook, along with social media platforms.
An understanding of regulatory, trade practice and privacy requirements.
A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business or Interior Design is preferred. Design credentials such as AKBD, CKD or LEED AP would be advantageous.

The base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000. This range is a guideline and may not reflect your exact offer. Factors considered when extending an offer include, but are not limited to, education, experience, relevant skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
