- Job Summary
- Supervises and provides care to patients. Actively uses the nursing process in resident centered patient care, demonstrating accountability as an individual and team member. Synthesizes information from a variety of sources to develop and implement an individualized, age appropriate, collaborative plan of care. Provides timely, continuous, age appropriate, collaborative assessment and preparation of patients and family. Assesses patients’ and families’ age appropriate learning needs, coordinates necessary teaching and evaluates teaching outcomes. Demonstrates a knowledge of and utilizes safe and appropriate patient care protocol as set forth in the standards of practice and the unit/department policy and procedure manual relating to the needs of adult and geriatric patients. Documents in the medical record. Completes physician rounds as needed. Performs procedures with minimal supervision. Adheres to policies and procedures in the department manual.
Education and/or Experience/Licensure/Certification
- Education: Eligible for or currently licensed as an LPN or an RN in the state of South Dakota. Basic Life Support is mandatory within six months of hire.
- Experience: Previous experience in Long Term Care is helpful, but not required.
Pay
Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
